The Time Traveler's Wife
What did you think of it?:
A really great read. You have to pay attention, though, since the book moves back and forth through time. The book is about Henry, who is a time traveler and his wife Clare.Clare has known Henry since she was six, but Henry only meets Clare when he's twenty-eight. All of this is explained by time travel. I really liked it, but I think sometimes the author uses unnecessary swearing that ruin the flow of words.

The Lovely Bones
What did you think of it?:
A really great book. A quick read, but not an easy one. Really sad, but there is also some joy and humour. The subject is pretty mature, so that's why I chose 15-18 for the age group. The story is about a fourteen-year-old girl who is raped and murdered by her neighbour. She watches her family, friends and killer from heaven.

Playing With Matches
What did you think of it?:
This is a book about a kid who thinks that he's a loser. He has only had three girlfriends and can't talk to the most popular girl in school even though they used to be friends. He is now 17 years old and the only part about his life that he likes is the fact that he no longer gets beaten up at school. After getting the locker beside a girl who has burns all over her face the only thing he can thing to do is make jokes. Surprisingly she finds his crude jokes funny and they start to become close, but he doesn't think he can can date her because everyone thinks that shes a freak. I think this is a really good book that shows us how harsh and judgmental people can be. I think that it's good because it also shows how it's not what someone looks like that counts, but whats on the inside, no matter how long it takes us to figure that out.

Venomous
What did you think of it?:
I thought that this was a really good book that shows how a kid named Locke deals with his anger, which he has named Venom. This book is very different than any other book that I've read, but I say this as a good thing. Venomous is interesting, enjoyable and most of all original which makes it a perfect book for those people who have a taste for novels that are more than just ordinary.

Girl #3
What did you think of it?:
This is a book about a teenage girl who is almost abducted. This book shows how scary it can be when you're a kid, and especially a girl. I thought that this novel demonstrated this point very well, but I also think that at times could be very confusing. The author jumps from past tense to present tense fairly frequently making this story a little hard to fallow, but if you are able to follow it then you might find it to be an ok read. I think this book presses a serious issue in today's society, but how it was written makes it confusing to read.

The Demon's Lexicon
What did you think of it?:
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel about demons and the life of two kids on the run. This is a story that gets the readers attention and keeps it throughout the entire book. If you have read/enjoyed reading a series of books called The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, then you will also like this series because they are both similar stories and have similar styles of writing. With an unexpected twist at the end of this novel, I found the story thrilling and very well written. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction and stories that are unpredictable until the very end.

Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale
What did you think of it?:
Sixteen-year-old Kaye has grown up in a strange environment, but is growing up nonetheless. Fierce and independent, she travels from city to city with her mother and her every-changing rock bands -- until an attempted murder forces her back to her childhood home. There, accompanied by a strangely willing gay boy, Kaye finds the true her and recognizes her true place in life.
Things are not as they seem. Tread very carefully upon the pages of this book. One wrong step could mean your doom.

Eragon
What did you think of it?:
In this series, Eragon, a young farmboy is hunting when a blue stone appears in front of him. He discovers that the stone is a dragon's egg, and in order to protect it, he runs away with the village storyteller. Eragon has many adventures, Fights in wars, and learns a terrible secret. I won't continue because I'll just give it all away. It's a great book and you have to read it!

At the Sign of the Sugared Plum
What did you think of it?:
A story of a girl who moves into town from the country to work at her sister's sweetmeat shop, The Sugared Plum, just as the Black plague descends upon London. A little disturbing and grotesque but well worth the read. Good for those devoted to historical fiction.
